TITLE X FAMILY PLANNING
The Title X Family Planning Program (Title ten) was created in 1970 to increase the likelihood of positive birth outcomes and improve health for women, men, and adolescents. The program is administered by the Office of Population Affairs (OPA), Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health (OASH) and is the only Federal program dedicated to the provision of comprehensive family planning and related preventive health services.
Title X services are designed to support individuals who desire to achieve or prevent pregnancy or parenthood through a broad range of voluntary and confidential clinic services, including:
- Reproductive Life Planning
- Pregnancy Testing and Counseling
- Contraceptive Methods and Counseling
- Basic Infertility Services
- Preconception Health (e.g., screening for obesity, smoking, diabetes)
- STI Screening and Treatment
- HIV Screening and Referral
- Breast, Cervical, and Colorectal Cancer screenings
